Welcome Home

Because it’s just after Christmas, there’s not much in the way of news, but there are a few interesting tidbits including something huge for Marvel.

The Fox-Disney deal is very close to being finished. This means that character like the X-men and Fantastic Four could eventually be introduced into the MCU.

Kevin Feige was on Variety’s “Playback” podcast and when asked if they could start  developing stories with Fox-owned Marvel properties he said, “No, but we heard it’s looking very, very good and could happen in the first six months of the new year.”

It’ll be nice to have these characters home where they belong. It would be nice if Sony and Universal would follow suit and relinquish their rights to characters like Hulk and Spider-Man so that those characters could be home permanently as well.

Discussing Film reported that Agents of Shield season seven is eyeing a February start date for filming.

The Sincura Group has announced an exciting opportunity for its members: the chance to see some footage from Avengers 4. The event will be in the UK sometime in April. It will also include a Q&A with co-director Joe Russo and some of the film’s cast, and an after party where members will be able to meet the film cast and crew.

It sounds like the premieres they were having last year for Infinity War. I wonder if Marvel will have similar events in other countries as well.

I hope y’all had a wonderful Christmas and I hope you a wonderful New Year. Type at ya later!

Over and Out,

Captain Stark

From God To Alien Hunter

It’s been a slow week for Marvel news and most of this week’s tidbits are about the actor’s other projects. News will be sure to pick up again after the New year. In the meantime I hope to have one movie review posted.

Unfortunately, the Spider-Man Far From Home trailer wasn’t released like it was supposedly going to. I’ve got no idea when they’ll release it. Hopefully, it will be soon.

According to  Peter Sciretta from Slashfilm, a couple of people have been allowed to read James Gunn’s script for Guardians 3. It’s so emotional that it’s made them cry.

Karen Gillan, who plays Nebula, told People in an interview “… I don’t have any details as to when [the next Guardians will come out] but there’s a script in existence.”

She cheekily added, I may have had a little teeny peek, but I can’t say anything.”

Let’s get through one tear-jerker at a time, please. We have Endgame to get through and I am not done recovering from Infinity War yet. I’m so not ready for another emotional roller coaster ride.

The Oscars recently released the shortlist of their nominees and all three of the MCU films that were released this year  have been nominated for awards.

Black Panther has made the shortlist for Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Original Song, and Visual Effects.

Infinity War has been shortlisted for Original Score and Visual Effects.

Antman And The Wasp has been shortlisted for Visual Effects.

The final nominations will be revealed on January 22, 2019. Fingers crossed that an MCU film will finally be recognized by the Academy!

There’s a rumor going around that a future MCU film will have scenes set during WWI. An Italian site has cited newspaper, I l Saviglianese, the castle and historic center of Racconigi are going to be used for filming scenes for an upcoming Marvel film. Filming is said to take place during April and May of next year. The report also claims that the director was seen in the area, but the director’s name wasn’t given. No one knows what movie is going to be filmed there, but it’s possible the scenes could be for Black Widow, which is the next movie set to start filming early next year. The Eternals is another possibility but nothing has been confirmed.

An MCU movie has never been set during WWI before, so if any of this turns out to be true, it will be an interesting era of history to explore. Dear Marvel, you have my attention!

Cate Blanchett (Hela In Thor Ragnarok) stars in the upcoming movie Where’d You Go, Bernadette? It’s based on the book of the same name by Maria Semple. The first trailer came out a couple days ago, and it looks very interesting.

It comes out in theaters March 22, 2019.

The IMAX trailer for Avengers Endgame has been released this weekend, both in theaters and online. You can watch it below. It’s the same trailer, you just see a few more details than you do in the original. For example, it is Nebula you see reaching for Tony. So that bursts the bubble in the “It’s Loki!” theory.

Avengers Endgame will be released April 26, 2019.

The head of Disney’s upcoming streaming service Disney+, Kevin Mayer, told The Hollywood Reporter that it’s a possibility that the canceled  Marvel Netflix shows could be be revived on Disney+. However, it won’t be anytime soon because the Netflix contract states that the characters from the canceled shows can’t be used in other projects until two years after cancellation.

Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes) has been very busy this year and has several new movies coming out, including Destroyer, which will be released Christmas Day. The final trailer is below.

The first look at the new film Monday starring Sebastian Stan and Deniese Gough was released by Variety.

The above picture is enough to sell me on this movie alone. The synopsis given reads:

Monday” follows the story of Mickey (Stan) and Chloe (Gough), two Americans in their mid-thirties living in Athens, who “meet in the heat of summer one whirlwind weekend,” according to a statement. “When Chloe’s time in Greece is drawing to a close, she decides to give up her high-flying job back home and explore whether one weekend’s passion can stand the reality of the inevitable Monday.”

I’m up for a romance any time. This sounds like it could be really good!

Sebastian will also star in the movie I’m Not Here. It comes out April 25, 2019. You can watch the first trailer below.

Marvel announced that there will be a two issue prelude comic for Spider-Man Far From Home. The first issue will be released next March and retells the story from Spider-Man Homecoming.

The poster and first trailer for Men In Black: International starring Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Tessa Thompson (Valkerie). You can check out the trailer below.1659A7F8-349D-44AD-AEC8-6E5E36DDBF08

It looks really cool. I can’t wait to see it! It comes out June 14, 2019.

Adam McKay (He helped Paul Rudd rewrite Antman) was on MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast and said that he has been approached by Marvel to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3. He also said that Marvel is “kicking around a Nova idea,” and that he would like the chance to make a Silver Surfer movie.

There is currently no word on whether he will be the one to replace James Gunn on Guardians 3.

According to IMDB, the two most anticipated 2019 films are Avengers 4 and Captain Marvel.

Insomniac Games has released the Sam Raimi Spider-Man suit for all players on Spider-Man for PS4.

The Christmas EP A Very Spidey Christmas featured in Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse has been released. You can now own gems like this:

The speaking part towards the end is particularly entertaining!

In a recent interview with Collider , director Guillermo del Toro was asked if he’d ever direct a film for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’s interested in doing so, but only if it focuses on characters that are monsters. He said, “I’m not interested in superheroes that aren’t monsters.”

So, Marvel, you know what to do. “Get this man a monster!”

In an interview with IGN, Kelly Port from Digital Domain, the company responsible for Infinity War’s visual effects, revealed that Red Skull was recreated entirely with CGI and that actor Ross Marquand only provided the voice.

The Russo Brothers said in an interview with Empire Magazine that “there’s a high probability that this movie (Avengers 4) will clock in at around three hours.” They say, “It’s a big movie with a lot of story.” 9C74E14C-AA47-4A25-BA26-0FBC22DD1888

I sure hope there’s an intermission if this turns out to be the case!

This will most likely be the last News Roundup of the year. I will try to have at least one movie review posted. The news will start up again in the new year and the News Roundup will return.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. I am so thankful for everyone involved in this community and am looking forward to seeing where the Facebook page and site go next in the New Year. Thanks for celebrating the MCU with us! ❤️

Over and out,

Captain Stark

Oh, Where is My Avengers 4 Trailer?

Unlike last week, there is a lot of news and speculation this week. So, let’s get to it!

Earlier this week, MCU Cosmic reported there’s a rumor going around that two characters from The Eternals, Karen and Piper, could appear in the end credits scene in a future cosmic movie like Captain Marvel or Avengers 4. It makes sense because Marvel often plants seeds in the end credits scenes  for future storylines. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Spider-Man: Into The Spiderverse isn’t even out yet, but The Hollywood Reporter announced that Sony Animation already has plans for not only a sequel but also an all-female spinoff as well.

I’m really excited for Into The Spiderverse. It looks really good! And I’m also happy that Sony is confident that the movie will do well and is moving forward with sequels.

It made major headlines this week when Avengers 4 director Joe Russo said during an interview with USA Today  that “I think it was more emotional for him than it was us because he’s not done yet. I won’t explain what that means but fans will soon understand what I’m talking about.”

I have no idea what’s in store for Captain America, but it gives me a tiny glimmer of hope that they won’t kill him off in Avengers 4. But this is the Russo Brothers we’re talking about so that’s why my hope is so tiny.

The trailer for the second season of The Runaways was released and is premiering on Hulu on December 21.

Deadline announced yesterday that Netflix’s Daredevil has been canceled after 3 seasons. Netflix said in a statement,  “While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil character will live on in future projects for Marvel,”

I wonder where he’ll show up in the future. Only time will tell, I guess.

Funko POP has released photos for a boatload of Captain Marvel POPS.

My wallet is already hurting. So many different versions of Captain Marvel, how’s a girl supposed to choose! I really like her on that motorcycle and the  cats are also adorable! 😍

Well. Another week is passed and there still seems to no sign of an Avengers 4 trailer. I have no date for when it will be released, but it is possible that we could see a trailer next week. Maybe. Hopefully. The trailer will be shared on our Facebook page when it is released.

The Marvel Studios Vice President Louis D’Esposito had this to say about the impending trailer release:

There’s also some really big Marvel news coming next week that all my Marvel Media people are talking about, but they’re not even dropping hints about what it is! All I know is that it’s going to be huge and exciting for Marvel fans. It could possibly be game related, but there is no confirmation on that. I won’t know anything until next week! I’m feeling a little impatient, but at least next week isn’t that far away.

This just in: Deadline just reported that the Disney Plus Scarlet Witch series will be called Vision And The Scarlet Witch and will launch sometime next year. This title currently hasn’t been confirmed by Marvel so take it with a grain of salt. Things could always change.

That’s all the new info I have for you this week. I’ll be back next week with another News Roundup. See ya then, if not sooner.

Over and Out,

Captain Stark

I Am Groot. (Rumors Galore!)

Hi! I hope all of our US members had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Since this is a holiday weekend, there wasn’t much in the way of news this week. But there have been a couple of rumors.

First, I’ll start with the little bit of actual news. Just Jared reported that Captain Marvel reshoots have started. Brie Larson and Clark Gregg were spotted filming earlier this week. Captain Marvel is set for release on March 8, 2019.

Charles Murphy from The Hashtag Show has reported that the next MCU movie  that will start filming is Black Widow. It’s currently set for release on May 1, 2020. Keep in mind, however, that dates are always subject to change.

Personally, I think it’s about time this Marvel Queen had her movie, and I’m glad it’s finally happening. I can’t wait to see it!

An interesting rumor popped up this week. There is NO confirmation on this whatsoever, but it’s an exciting rumor to think about. Especially, if you’re a Guardians fan. Charles Murphy said earlier this week that there’s a possibility that Groot and Rocket could get their own Disney + series. Again, this is just a rumor! But it’s an intriguing rumor, nevertheless.

There’s a lot of speculation on when we could be getting the first Avengers 4 trailer. Everything from it being supposed to be released this previous Friday to it possibly being delayed. All I know is that we could possibly be getting it soon, maybe. Though there has been no official release date, there are a lot of fake accounts on both Twitter and Instagram that say they know when the trailer will be released. So far all of them have been proven false. Fingers crossed, we’ll get a trailer soon.

Below are several tweets from Jeremy Conrad of MCU Cosmic and Daniel R. of SuperBroMovies about the trailer release. It’s a little bit of nothing, but a little bit of nothing is still something.

There’s also a chance we could see the next Captain Marvel trailer soon.

Unfortunately, there’s no confirmation of when we’ll see the next Captain Marvel trailer. (Geez, people, it’s hard to do this journalist thing when you’ve given me nothing!)

Here’s hoping there’s something a bit more newsworthy next week. That’s it for this My Marvelous Escape News (make that rumor) Roundup. See ya next time.
