Black Panther’s Still Roaring Strong

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year! This week there weren’t any huge developments in the world of Marvel, but as usual, there were a few pieces of information.

The Hollywood Reporter announced Letitia Wright (Shuri) has been nominated for a BAFTA Rising Star Award. This award is voted for by the public, and the winner for the award will be announced at the BAFTA’s on February 10. She’s also been named the highest earning box office actor of 2018.

Black Panther was nominated for the Best Picture Award by the Producers Guild of America. I’m really hoping it gets nominated for an Academy Award as well. This film definitely deserves all the awards!

Captain Marvel is getting closer and closer. On Monday, ESPN will release an extended TV spot for the movie during the National College Football Championship, and several theater chains have updated their websites with a runtime of 2 hours and ten minutes, give or take a minute. This means that  advanced tickets should go on sale soon.

Heroic Hollywood just reported that a new synopsis for Captain Marvel has been released by Disney in their press kit for their upcoming 2019 releases. The synopsis reads as follows:

I am so excited for this movie! March 8, 2019 can’t come fast enough!
